In Our B&B we have large amounts of Information available for you to read and borrow plus bus timetables and numbers at hand to help you plan your day.
Some examples are below.
Spend time in Canterbury. (Allow 1-2 days)
Take a walk from our B&B in to the City Centre and in less than 15 minutes you will reach the stunning Cathedral where history goes back to 597AD. Canterbury also has a wealth of other historic sites all of which can be reached from us on foot, or if you prefer, by taking the bus from opposite our house.
We would suggest taking 2 days to explore Canterbury properly.
A Trip to Whitstable. (Allow 1 day)
Walk or take the bus in to the City Centre bus station which then gives you access to a wide range of places. Whitstable being one. The journey will take you less than one hour.
Relax and watch your cares drift away from the coast of picturesque Whitstable.
Whitstable's traditional charms, strong arts culture and rich maritime history sit easily with its renaissance.
Its main streets are packed with craft shops and galleries, delicatessens and fashion shops trading side by side with butchers and bakers. You can tuck into fish and chips or a medley of marinated seafood, local oysters or for something else, Italian, Tapas, Thai or Indian are all available within the town centre.
Follow your nose in Whitstable and it will lead you to the sea. Whether you take the main route through the town or enjoy haphazard progress through quiet lanes and alleyways with eccentric names such as Squeeze Gut Alley, you'll end up at the harbour.
Here, sailing boats wait for their chance to skim the waves and, from the shelter of the harbour walls, fishing boats bob and bow and prepare for their next mission.
A Trip To Sandwich. (Allow 1 day) Walk or take the bus in to the City Centre bus station which then gives you access to a wide range of places. Sandwich being one. The journey will take you around one hour.
Once the major port in England but now two miles from the sea, Sandwich is arguably one of the best preserved medieval towns in the UK. Within the old town walls the many period houses, with their characteristic "Kent peg" roofs, are laid out in a street plan which has changed little since the creation of the Domesday book in 1086.
A Trip To Herne Bay. (Allow 1 day) Walk or take the bus in to the City Centre bus station which then gives you access to a wide range of places. Herne Bay being one. The journey will take you less than one hour.
Romantics and traditionalists in search of British seaside magic will find all their expectations met in Herne Bay.
Brightly coloured beach huts offer access to all the life of the water's edge and beyond. Sporting enthusiasts including rowers, yachtsmen and jet ski riders pursue their passion in Herne Bay's waters, adding a thrilling dimension to natural marine qualities.
In Herne Bay, the sea is a constant. And in the summer months its beauty is enhanced by the gardens that nestle the seafront, bringing floral colour for admiring visitors who pass the clock tower and bandstand.
In recent years, the bandstand has become a venue for those who enjoy café culture, and throughout the year it is a focal point for all who enjoy the pleasure of musical events and entertainment.
These are just 4 ideas of how to spend your time. We have many others!
